The whole point of Shoe Simulator is to accumulate as many steps as possible. It sounds simple enough, but as you progress, the requirements for the next tier of shoes or the next rebirth start reaching astronomical numbers. You go from needing a few hundred steps to needing millions. If you're doing that manually, you're looking at hours—if not days—of just holding down a button and steering your character around the map.
